PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

Our client is looking for a highly motivated, passionate and reliable individual with a good eye for detail to join their close-knit development team to help bring products to life. The role will involve assisting the Product Development Manager in developing the product with both our UK and Far East suppliers. This is a fast-paced and ever-changing role and as such, they are looking for a highly flexible and adaptable candidate who is happy to get involved in all aspects of the development process. 
Ideally, they are looking for someone with previous experience or someone who can demonstrate an understanding of the product development process.

Main duties:
•    Support the development of the product ranges so that they reflect the visual style of the brand and meet all company standards
•    Be aware of and assist in the analysis of, seasonal trends, competitor activity and design direction to assist the Product and Design team to deliver innovative and commercial ranges
•    Assist with the development briefs 
•    Check regulatory information and carry out final checks on artworks ensuring accuracy 
•    Maintain clear and consistent communication with both UK suppliers and Far East factories, developing and fostering relationships
•    Collating product information for those in other teams that require it
•    Filling out and maintaining information files for products
•    Requesting, managing, and organising all samples for all purposes, including in house reviews, photoshoots, and shows/exhibitions
•    Conduct regular store visits and competitor analysis to develop your knowledge and relationships. Share feedback with the team

Person Specification:
•    Adaptable and flexible – needs to maintain effectiveness in a fast moving and changing environment with varying tasks
•    Can do attitude – proactive and takes initiative 
•    Super organised – needs to be on top of tasks and spreadsheets at all times
•    Meticulous with attention to detail
•    Commercially aware with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn
•    Ability to work alone and within a team
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Ability to handle pressure and be able to multi-task
•    Committed to achieving results
•    Microsoft Office knowledge – Word, Excel & PowerPoint
•    Ideally 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
